Tabuk is a small city up north, the closest city to neom, Saudi’s new development. If you are going on a desert exhibition or are on your way to Neom or the airport in Tabuk but have a few hours in town. Here are a few of the restaurants I went to and enjoyed while up in Tabuk
- Al-Qaryah Al-Turahiyah Restaurant
Up north their Saudi specialty is Mansaf, a chicken and rice dish cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yoghurt. It comes with a side soup to soak your yellow rice and chicken with. It is incredibly delish. My husband and I topped it off with a pot (ibreq in Arabic) of red tea (chai ahmar) and the desert Kanafa. It was incredibly priced. The atmosphere was so fun, cozy, a great place for a large group of people or a date with your spouse. The staff predominantly speak Arabic but are super kind!

2. Taj Mahal Resturant
Walking into an atmosphere of color, kindness and amazing smells the staff sit you down with a menu of food from all over India. We had the sambuusas, butter chicken and naan bread. For two people it was super filling. Delicious, and gives you a change in what foods are available. They have family rooms and also you can rent special VIP rooms if you are having a party or a private gathering.

3. Staition 67
While less about food, this a food truck area with outdoor seating for the winter months is a great place to interact with friends. Have tea, shisha or mansaf and interact with people. Its on the outer road of the city. There is an Al Baik, the traditional saudi version of McDonalds, a Cheese House and traditional Saudi/Jordanian Mansaf. A great place to be outside of the city, get a chance to breathe and rest.
